Volkswagen plans to buy Ferrari

| Tuesday, November 9, 2010 | 0 comments

German car manufacturer, Volkswagen Group which already owns brands like Lamborghini and Bugatti has not set its eyes on the Italian biggie, Ferrari. Rumors doing rounds in Germany suggest VW boss, Mr Ferdinand Piech is the one who dreams buy the Italian brand.

But the question now is, why would be a brand like Ferrari be available, what would make Fiat, the current owners of Ferrari, sell Ferrari? The answer seems to be quite simple. Fiat Motors are in a kind of financial mess after acquiring Chrysler. The company is reportedly having trouble managing their finances.

We know VW Group is cash rich as they have reserves worth more than $27 billion, which they would be more than happy to use for buying Ferrari and in the meantime helping Fiat with their finances.
